Street Feast is back!

Street Feast:

Here at Slate we’ve been BIG fans of Street Feast’s Hackney ventures. And we are super excited that our Friday nights have become even better!  The venue used to literally be round the corner from our office.  The great news is that Street Feast is still in Hackney, although we do now have a slightly further walk up Kingsland Road! Street Feast has returned to do it’s thing in Dalston Yard. Still that’s all good, it’ll help build up an appetite right? With 17 amazing traders and 13 bars, we will probably need those extra steps! Oh yeah!!!

We’re looking forward to the return of some of our favourite traders whose treats we have savoured previously and discovering the latest street food trends and being led into temptation!

Here are a selection of our favourite treats….

Yum Bun’s deliciously soft steamed buns, the savoury selection is hard to beat, this years veggie option is delicious (portobello and shiitake mushrooms, toasted walnuts and a miso galze) topped possibly only be the sweet ones… Think a deep fried bao, coconut ice cream, miso, butterscotch and peanut praline!! NOM. (Is bun addiction a thing yet, if not it should be?)

Petare are another of our faves! Petare deliver amazing Venezuelan street food. Petare specialise in arepas, cornflour buns stuffed with amazing fillings such as pulled beef brisket with black beans, plantain and cheese. Our favourite however has to be the Yucas Frita, glorious crispy cassava chips, with feta and avocado and coriander sauce….. Droooooool.

The Kamm Shed, one of the bar areas, is also well worth a visit, it’s a veritable oasis, you could quite frankly be anywhere quintessentially British, rather than in a slightly broken Dalston warehouse. Kamm and Sons distill a gorgeous botanical aperitif, that then becomes the basis of their cocktails! Do try one!!

We’re seriously lucky that we have all of this a few minutes walk up Kingsland Road! Another reason why we love Hackney! Thanks Street Feast!!

See you there!
